Raised in Hickory Corners, Michigan, Grace Gallagher started her training in jazz, ballet, tap, and contemporary. She later moved to Arizona to study dance at Arizona State University, where she trained as both a modern and hip hop dancer. She spent two years on the ASU hip hop coalition, and later joined EPIK dance company. Grace has also lived in New York City, where she interned at Broadway Dance Center. While in NYC she got to work closely with choreographers including Sheila Barker, Jamie Jackson, and Dana Foglia. After her time on the east coast, she decided to try out the LA scene. She was accepted into the Edge Performing Arts Center’s Scholarship Program.
Since graduating the program, she was hired by Edge to help start their first ever kids program. In addition to teaching, Grace has also worked on various projects with choreographers including Mandy Moore, Jason Myhre, Joelle Martinec, Nico O’Connor, Chris Dupre’, Dante7, Sabrina Phillip, Joaquin Escamilla, Yusuf Nasir, and Lisa Eaton. Grace is currently a second year in the graduate program at Arizona State University. Grace premiered her first show, CONSequence, at the MonOrchid Gallery in Phoenix last May. Her work has also been recently shown at Artel PHX, Phoenix Center for the Art’s Beta Dance Festival, Breaking Ground Dance Festival, Studio 3D for Halo Movement Collective’s 2nd showing of Underland: White Nightmare. Grace’s second evening length work, 40 Love Letters, premiered on April 3rdat the MonOrchid, North Gallery.
