Angelica Papagiannopoulos started dancing seriously at the age of 12, when she trained on scholarship at the Ruth Page Center for the Arts in Chicago under the tutelage of the late Larry Long. She spent summers studying at both the Houston Ballet Academy and the Boston Ballet School.
She went on to study at the prestigious Ailey School/Fordham University BFA program in New York City. During her time at The Ailey School, Angelica was chosen to perform at Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre’s 50th Anniversary Gala in a world premiere at New York City Center, as well as the Ailey at the Apollo Gala at the acclaimed Apollo Theatre. During her senior year, Angelica apprenticed with Ballet Hispanico She has also worked as a model for Leo’s Dancewear and Revolution Dancewear.
Aside from her love of performing, Angelica also has a passion for teaching and choreographing. In the summer of 2014, she became an American Ballet Theatre certified instructor, Pre Primary through Level 3. Her choreography has been awarded top overalls and choreography awards on both regional and national levels. Her main goal as an instructor is to instill a lifelong passion for dance while bringing out the best in each and every one of her students.
